Did you know that:

1. Lee Byung-hun (Hyun-jun) has acted in Hollywood movies like G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Terminator Genisys. 

2. Kim Seung-woo (Cheol-yeong), Kim So-yeon (Sun-hwa), and Lee Jung-kil (President Jo) are also in the spinoff, Athena: Goddess of War, and the sequel, Iris II.

3. Iris won best drama at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2010.

4. Kim Tae-hee (Seung-hee) is married to Korean music star, Rain. She recently gave birth to their first child on October 25th 2017.

5. T.O.P (Vick) is part of a popular Korean boy group, Big Bang, which is under YG Entertainment. 

6. The distribution rights for the Japanese market were sold for $4.2 million USD and the show was the first South Korean drama to be Japanese-dubbed and aired during primetime television.

7. The film’s first scenes were filmed in Akita, Japan on March 10, 2009. 

8. IRIS was rated first in Seoul for every episode and it peaked at 41.8 for its finale. It was also rated first nationwide for all episodes except for the first one. These ratings are from the TNS Media Korea. 

9. The IRIS OST, “Hallelujah” is sung by T.O.P (Vick) and his fellow Big Bang members, Taeyang and G-Dragon.

10. The closest thing that South Korea has to the NSS is the NIS. The NIS is the National Intelligence Services and it serves to investigate crimes affecting national security, maintaining things that are related to South Korea’s classified information, and to collect and distribute the nation’s strategy and security.
