IRIS CANDY KISS STARTS FOOD KISSES TREND BY RACHEL

Adding on to my blog post in ep 3 about the Candy Kiss scene, I want to talk about the trend of food kisses. As unrealistic as they might seem to be, k-drama fans love all these unrealistic kiss scenes. Here’s a compilation of some of these food kisses that hopped onto the trend after the candy kiss.

Heirs Donut Kiss

 Although this wasn’t an actual kiss scene, it was close enough because Lee Min Ho leaned in. When Lee Min Ho was asked if he wanted to try the donut, instead of just grabbing a new one, he leans into Park Shin Hye and takes a bite out of the one in her mouth. (I am also very fascinated by these donuts on a stick, as it won’t make your hand dirty or full of melted chocolate).

That Winter, the Wind Blows Cotton Candy Kiss

This one also isn’t a real kiss scene, but the way Jo in Sung looks at Song Hye Kyo is so endearing.

Secret Garden Latte Foam Kiss

This one is a popular one within the food kisses, where Ha Ji Won left a line of foam on top of her lips. Unlike real life situations where the male should just grab a napkin and wipe it off for her, Hyun Bin wipes off the kiss by kissing her.

It’s Okay, It’s Love Bingsoo Kiss

Learn from this drama if you ever want to steal food out of someone’s mouth. While Gong Hyo Jin was telling a story and eating bingsoo, Jo In Sung stares at her intensely while listening. He suddenly leans in and kisses her, stealing the bingsoo as well.

Fated to Love You Ramen Kiss

Similar to Lady and the Tramp sharing a spaghetti kiss,  Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra share a ramen noodle.

Pinocchio Toast Kiss

This one also was not an actual kiss scene, but it was close enough. In Park Shin Hye’s dream, she dreams of a regular morning with Lee Jong Suk.

BONUS: After the Play Ends Knee Kiss

After the Play Ends has a half reality show half drama concept. It shows the behind the scenes of filming, to see how co-stars feel about each other. Although this drama did not have a kiss scene, it mentions the candy kiss from Iris. It refers to the candy kiss as a good kiss scene, and they wanted to create a kiss scene that could get on its level or surpass it.
